A: Wie kamen die 3 Head-Admins zusammen?

A: Was waren deine Aufgaben während des Projekts?

Atze-Peng und lolomax - Orginal hat geschrieben:Atze Peng: when did you start with the arrangements of this project?
Atze Peng: (dont make complex sentences, I'll translate it to german anyway ;-) )
-Lr-Lolomax: ok, hmm
-Lr-Lolomax: I entered in the beta-test phase in October (early October)
-Lr-Lolomax: Rastaben was already here in September
-Lr-Lolomax: I'm going to ask Due
-Lr-Lolomax: Duke
-Lr-Lolomax: to know when he started to work on the website
-Lr-Lolomax: right now
Atze Peng: propably in summer I suppose ;-)
-Lr-Lolomax: probably. He's answering me
-Lr-Lolomax: well, he had the first ideas in July, when he looked at the online ladder
and thought it didn't showed the best players, but only those who play a lot
-Lr-Lolomax: also, he participated to the votes for a ranking established by esportsfrance
-Lr-Lolomax: you see what king of rankings it is?
-Lr-Lolomax: those where they are pre-selected players, and then they are 10 or 20 other players who vote
Atze Peng: yeah
Atze Peng: I remember
-Lr-Lolomax: that's what ET did for their TMN ranking
-Lr-Lolomax: and participating to esportfrance's ranking, Duke thought it would be great to base these kind of rankings on
something real
-Lr-Lolomax: as the players who vote aren't really objective
-Lr-Lolomax: when they vote
-Lr-Lolomax: they vote for the players thet prefer (usually)
Atze Peng: which is just natural ;-) no noe can be completely objective ;-)
-Lr-Lolomax: so he decided he had to program a website which would objectively reference every important competition
-Lr-Lolomax: to get a "real" ranking
-Lr-Lolomax: he started to work on TM-Rankings in August
-Lr-Lolomax: ;)

---------------------------Frage 2---------------------------

how did the 3 head-admins (duke, rastaben and you) gathered together (if you dont know about rastaben its not much of a big
problem)
-Lr-Lolomax: you want to know the tasks we did?
Atze Peng: nah just how did you and rastaben came into the project
Atze Peng: did you klnow duke before already
-Lr-Lolomax: oh, yes !
-Lr-Lolomax: OK
Atze Peng: or just per chance
-Lr-Lolomax: (it will be shorter than the last question) xD
Atze Peng: not a problem, still got a few question in my sleeve :P
-Lr-Lolomax: so, Duke thought he couldn't finish his project alone, because adding every team, every player, every
competition is a huge work when you also have to code the whole website
-Lr-Lolomax: he posted a thread on the Paf forum
-Lr-Lolomax: and Rastaben (who's from Paf team), fount the project really interesting
-Lr-Lolomax: found*
-Lr-Lolomax: I'm asking Duke (to verify what I'm telling you is true)
Atze Peng: and you saw the thread there either?
Atze Peng: ok
-Lr-Lolomax: no, because I'm not Paf xD
-Lr-Lolomax: 5 seconds, I'm asking Duke
-Lr-Lolomax: how it really happened
-Lr-Lolomax: ^^
Atze Peng: I have much time, if you have the time iether its fine ;-)
-Lr-Lolomax: I've time
-Lr-Lolomax: (Christmas holidays powa !!)
Atze Peng: <3
-Lr-Lolomax: ok
-Lr-Lolomax: Duke posted the thread on the paf forum in September
-Lr-Lolomax: they all told us it was great, but that it would ask too much time
-Lr-Lolomax: only Rasta thought it would be possible to finish the website, and took part
-Lr-Lolomax: he helped Duke at adding information into the database, mostly the TMN part
-Lr-Lolomax: then they called Vache and Roxer (from TEP), and asked them if they could add TMU information
-Lr-Lolomax: they said yes, but didn't really participate
-Lr-Lolomax: because they had no time
-Lr-Lolomax: so, Duke showed the project to Benjisite (you know him)?
Atze Peng: a little lamp goes on in my head, but i just remeber the name having heard
-Lr-Lolomax: ok, so as it's important to know who he's, I'll tell you in a few lines
-Lr-Lolomax: Benjisite started to play at the very beginning of TrackMania
-Lr-Lolomax: when the LE started, he commented matches with other players on TM-Radio
-Lr-Lolomax: he also broadcast TM-Radio one day per week. In this radio show, he talked about TM news, matches... he did
interviews...
-Lr-Lolomax: Focus proposed him a job, and he accepted it
-Lr-Lolomax: nowadays, he's still working for Focus :)
-Lr-Lolomax: what is important is that:
-Lr-Lolomax: you know PAflive?
Atze Peng: yep
Atze Peng: the online streaming
Atze Peng: about matches
-Lr-Lolomax: yep :)
-Lr-Lolomax: Benji commented matches with Duke & Barouf on Paflive
-Lr-Lolomax: Duke & Benji got along, and that's why Duke showed TM-Rankings to Benji
-Lr-Lolomax: and also because Benji is an important player of the community
-Lr-Lolomax: he showed the project to Benji, and told him he missed TMU administrator
-Lr-Lolomax: At the beginning of October, Benji told me on msn: "Do you have a good knowledge of TMU teams, competitions,
players?"
-Lr-Lolomax: (I know Benji IRL, I saw him several times, and he's in my team... that's why he thought of me)
-Lr-Lolomax: Benji gave me Duke's msn adress, and I started to work with Duke at this moment
-Lr-Lolomax: :)
-Lr-Lolomax: as I found TM-Rankings great
-Lr-Lolomax: :)
-Lr-Lolomax: to summarize
-Lr-Lolomax: Duke: started to work in August >>> September: Posted a thread on PAf's forum >>> Rastaben liked it >>>>
October: They need TMU admin >>> I'm in :D
-Lr-Lolomax: yep, that's Benji's fault xDD
Atze Peng: dare him xD
-Lr-Lolomax: ^^

---------------------------Frage 3---------------------------

Atze Peng: what were yuor duties in the project? (this is a question just about you, because its an interview with you,
rast and duke doesnt care here xD)
-Lr-Lolomax: lol
-Lr-Lolomax: the first thing I did was to post comments on the pages in which I found mistakes
-Lr-Lolomax: Duke gave me the super-admin rights, and I started to correct everything wrong
-Lr-Lolomax: I mostly had to complete team's lineups
-Lr-Lolomax: so, I wrote on a paper the names of the most important TMU teams
Atze Peng: basicially the competition stats were done already
-Lr-Lolomax: yep
-Lr-Lolomax: every competition were already added
-Lr-Lolomax: I only added DBC, JBRT, CMC
-Lr-Lolomax: little competitions
-Lr-Lolomax: also FET1 & 2
-Lr-Lolomax: but most of the competitions' adding work had already been done when I started to work
-Lr-Lolomax: :)
Atze Peng: kk
Atze Peng: 3 questions left =O

---------------------------Frage 4---------------------------

Atze Peng: was it sometimes frustrating due to the mass of informations you had to work on?
-Lr-Lolomax: yes and no.... of course, it was disapointing to see there were a lot of lineups to complete, but I also wanted
to do it quick, as I wanted the website to be released. What was very long was to open the UL1, UL2, LE9, UL3, SL5 websites,
and to compare line-ups from a competition to another, to know when players started to play with a team, and when they stopped
to play with a team.
-Lr-Lolomax: on my desk, there are about 20 full paper sheets
-Lr-Lolomax: in which I used to write the line-up changes from a competition to another
-Lr-Lolomax: ^^
-Lr-Lolomax: the other thing that was a bit disapointing is that I was the only one to speak a quite good English
-Lr-Lolomax: I wrote the FAQ, the MP to send to beta-testers, the Lineups changes requests models...
-Lr-Lolomax: but we often talked on msn (with Rasta and Duke)
-Lr-Lolomax: that's where we decided the calculation formulas
-Lr-Lolomax: discussing was important
Atze Peng: of course ;-)
Atze Peng: quite a good bridge to my next question

---------------------------Frage 5---------------------------

Atze Peng: are you statisfied with the feedback of the community you got?
-Lr-Lolomax: of course !
-Lr-Lolomax: we got very few bad reactions. Also, Duke can see where the link appear. And it seems like it's in a lot of forums
-Lr-Lolomax: what's more is that the forum seems to work as we expected
Atze Peng: and what did you expect?
-Lr-Lolomax: We thought the players wouldn't follow the models, and would just ask us to correct information without taking care of the FAQ
-Lr-Lolomax: we're glad it works fine

---------------------------Frage 6---------------------------

Atze Peng: last question in line now
Atze Peng: what are you planing to do with the site? any new features in progress already?
-Lr-Lolomax: about the previous question, Duke says: "What's great is that the community participates to the website's
improvement, by giving us new information (new competitions, teams, etc, even if the website isn't perfect!"
-Lr-Lolomax: now about this question
-Lr-Lolomax: (previous question: 100 new competitions have been registred since the release (1 week ago)
-Lr-Lolomax: oh, before answering the last question, you can interesting datas here: http://www.tm-rankings.com/stats/
-Lr-Lolomax: 1st) The website will be linked with TM-Calendar (which has been developed by Duke). On TM-Calendar, every
player can add his own events (competitions). The players will therefore be able to announce the competitions they organise
without posting a thread on TM-Rankings
-Lr-Lolomax: 2nd) There's a cool feature being developed at the time. Players will be able to control their profiles (teams
they had, competitions they participated in. These datas will just need to be validated by any admins
-Lr-Lolomax: 3rd) Other cool features: Private Message box, Intra-team rankings (there'll be a ranking of the players of a
team on the team pages... I don't know if it's clear ^^)...
-Lr-Lolomax: and probably some other features will come later
Atze Peng: sounds good
Atze Peng: well every good things come to an end, so our little interview, which grow up quite big is over
Atze Peng: thanks for the interview
-Lr-Lolomax: ok, thanks you !
Atze Peng: cya
-Lr-Lolomax: bb
Atze Peng: ++
